White House spokesman Anthony Scaramucci told CNN: "He may sign the sanctions, or he may vote on the sanctions and negotiate a more anti-Russian deal."

Whip John Cornyn, Republican Senate Majority Leader from Texas, told VOA: "I think that the veto election will be a serious mistake. What would have been better if the White House officials collaborated with us in drafting the bill. "
"The draft sanctions will put more pressure on the president to resolve the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin," the top member of the Democrat Party of the Senate Foreign Relations Commission of Maryland said. If he voted for the veto, it would mean that President Trump does not want to use his power to deal with Putin. "
